SCOTT HERTZOG

Scott searched the patent and technical literature as a chemical patent examiner in the fields of cleaning and pigment compositions throughout the nineties. He took a sabbatical and earned an MA in Counseling, then came back to searching in 2003 as a Technical Information Specialist in EIC 2800 at the USPTO, helping examiners search the semiconductor, inkjet printer, sound production and abatement, and physics arts. In 2005, Scott took a break to stay at home with his newborn daughter prior to joining Science IP in June 2006.

Scott earned a BS in Chemistry from University of Arizona, where he did honors research with Regents Professor Victor J. Hruby on enkephalin analogues and earned an MA in Counseling from Western Seminary.

Scott is a member of the American Chemical Society Divisions of Chemical Information (CINF), Chemistry and the Law (CHAL), Biochemical Technology (BIOT), the Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology subdivision of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry (I&EC), and the Patent Information Users Group (PIUG).
