MIKE MULLICAN

Mike joined Science IP in May of 2005 as a Senior Searcher. Prior to joining CAS, he worked as an independent patent information specialist. Mike focuses on comprehensive chemical and pharmaceutical searching and analysis in support of intellectual property-related issues and competitive intelligence.

Mike received his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Kansas under Professor Dale Boger. He is registered to practice before the USPTO as an Agent (#55,473).

Mike is a member of the American Chemical Society Divisions of Chemistry and the Law (CHAL), Organic Chemistry (ORG), Medicinal Chemistry (MEDI) and Chemical Information (CINF). He is also a member of the Patent Information Users Group (PIUG) and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).

Mike has 18 years experience as a medicinal chemist at both small and large pharmaceutical companies. As a chemistry project leader, he led efforts in the discovery of three clinical candidates in global research collaborations and played a key role in developing IP strategy. He has co-authored more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a co-inventor on more than 35 issued patents.
