G. KENNETH OSTRUM

Dr. "O" has been associated with CAS for over 34 years. He is widely recognized as an expert in polymer indexing and searching, and has prepared and presented dozens of public and private seminars and customized presentations on polymer searching using a wide variety of databases. Among his many achievements, Dr. O has also recently provided expert assistance in a project to link CAS Registry Numbers® for monomer-based records to the corresponding CAS Registry Numbers for the structural repeating unit (SRU) records.

Ken has a Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Organic Chemistry, and spent 4 years in polymer research in both government and industrial laboratories before joining CAS.

He has been involved with the design, testing, implementation, documentation, and training for most of the robust searching features now available for the more than 200 files on STN® International.
