KERRY STANLEY

Kerry is a Senior Searcher in the Science IP division. Prior to joining CAS, Kerry worked for 22 years in the pharmaceutical industry where he managed the chemical, biomedical and patent search activities at McNeil Pharmaceutical, Wyeth and Sterling Winthrop. Kerry focuses on comprehensive chemical and pharmaceutical patent retrieval and analysis in support of patentability, freedom to operate, validity, infringement, due diligence and competitor analysis activities within the legal and corporate environment.

Prior to joining the Science IP division, Kerry was responsible for training patent searchers around the world. Kerry has worked with several major pharmaceutical companies to develop effective search protocol standards. He has made literally hundreds of presentations on search strategy development and results analysis. He has been a lead author for the STN Patent Forum series of training sessions, and is recognized both internally and externally as a "CAS patent expert".

Kerry obtained a MS degree in physical organic chemistry from Iowa State University. He has co-authored 7 scientific publications and is the inventor of 3 US issued patents.
